community involvement

At Toronto Adventures, we believe our responsibility extends far beyond the water’s edge. We are committed to building a stronger, more inclusive Toronto by supporting local charities, protecting our waterways, and ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background, has the chance to experience the joy of paddling.

Canoe Heads For Kids

We are proud supporters of Amici’s Canoe Heads for Kids. Every spring, we join this incredible 15km paddle and portage across Toronto’s waterfront to raise funds that send children from low-income families to overnight summer camps. It’s about more than just a day on the water; it’s about giving kids the chance to grow through adventure.

    Empowering Survivors: Dragons Abreast

We support the mission of Dragons Abreast, a dragon boat team dedicated to the rehabilitation and well-being of breast cancer survivors. By promoting an active, supportive lifestyle, this program helps survivors reclaim their physical and psychological health through the power of teamwork and paddling.

      Silent Auction & Local Support

We love seeing our local schools, charities, and non-profits thrive. To help your fundraising efforts, we regularly donate paddling passes and gift certificates for silent auctions. If you’re looking to add an “adventure” prize to your next event, reach out—we’re here to help you reach your goals.

        Paddling for All: Accessibility Initiatives

Nature belongs to everyone. To ensure our programs are accessible, we offer specialized discounts and free passes for students, seniors, and underprivileged youth. We believe the mental and physical health benefits of paddling should be available to every Torontonian.

          Semi-Annual Humber Valley Cleanup

Twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall, we host our Humber Valley Cleanup. This is a free event where we supply canoes, garbage bags, gloves, drinks, snacks and more to all participants who help cleanup garbage left in the Humber valley and its waterways.

            Hydration without the waste

Stay hydrated, stay green. We provide free, chilled water at all our events—all you need is a reusable bottle. Forgot yours? We carry industry-standard Nalgene bottles on-site so you can ditch the single-use plastic for good.

              Daily Site-Wide Cleanup

Stewardship isn’t just a twice-a-year event; it’s a daily habit. From May through late fall, our guides perform site-wide sweeps to remove litter and hazardous materials. Even during our guided tours, our team is always on the lookout, plucking debris from the water to keep the river pristine.

                Education & Awareness

With over 20 years on the water, we’ve seen the Humber River transform from a “hidden” spot into a vibrant community hub. Our staff are trained to pass on “Leave No Trace” principles to every guest, turning every rental into a lesson in environmental appreciation.

                  Giving Back: Every Child Matters

In reflection of Canada’s history and in support of Indigenous communities, Toronto Adventures is committed to contributing to Reconciliation Canada. We believe in using our platform to support the families affected by the residential school system and to foster a future built on respect.
