Gear up & get ready! What to bring for your course:

      • Dress for success (and water!): Wear quick-drying clothing suitable for paddling and the weather (synthetics or wool are great, avoid cotton). Layers are smart!
      • Sun savvy: Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses are your best friends on sunny days.
      • Spex Security: Bring a strap for your glasses or sunglasses – the lake likes souvenirs!
      • Post-paddle comfort: A towel and a complete change of clothes (including shoes!). Your own dry sac if you have one.
      • Fuel for fun: Pack snacks, lunch, and plenty of water or your favourite hydrating beverage.
      • Paperwork: Paper and pen/pencil for notes.
      • Proof of you: Photo ID.
      • Bring Your Own Kayak & Equipment option: If you select “Bring Your Own Kayak & Equipment,” you must bring your own seaworthy kayak, kayak paddle, spray skirt, PFD (life jacket), and a complete coast guard safety kit (whistle, pump/bailer, 15m buoyant heaving line or throw rope).

What’s included in the equipment rental package?

      • Wilderness Systems Tsunami 145 sea kayak
      • Spray skirt
      • Kayak touring paddle (2-piece aluminum)
